Return Labels & EU Withdrawal for Shopify
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Return Labels & EU Withdrawal is a Shopify app for stores that sell to consumers in Europe. Since 19 June 2026 such stores need a visible way to withdraw from a purchase online. The app adds that withdrawal button on every plan, and lets customers start a return themselves and print a label of your own carrier contract. When the carrier scans the parcel, the refund, exchange or store credit can go out through Shopify returns automatically.

What you get
EU withdrawal button
- A link labelled “Withdraw from contract here” on every page of your store, in the customer’s language, switched on as an app embed in the theme editor. You choose the footer or a floating corner, and whether only visitors from the EU and EEA see it.
- Two steps, as the directive asks: the customer finds the order with the order number and email or postcode, sees a summary that records nothing yet, and only “Confirm withdrawal” records the statement. No reason is asked.
- A confirmation email with the content of the statement and its date and time goes to the customer at once, and a notice goes to you.
- A journal of every statement with its time, exportable as CSV and as a PDF per statement.
- The withdrawal period is counted from delivery: 14 days by law, or longer if your terms promise more.
Returns your customers start themselves
- A returns page on your store for guests (order number and email or postcode) and a “Return items” action in new customer accounts.
- Your rules: return window from delivery or from the order, tags and collections that can’t be returned, a final sale tag, countries without returns, blocked customers, reasons and photos when you want them.
- Ways back: a label of your carrier, a label you upload, drop-off in your store, or the customer ships it.
- Every return is a Shopify return, so the order, refunds and stock stay right in Shopify. Returns created in Shopify admin show up in the app too.
Labels of your own carrier contract
- PostNL (returns from the Netherlands and Belgium to the Netherlands), DHL Parcel Germany (returns from 30 European countries to Germany, QR code for customers in Germany), PostNord (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland) and Bring (Norway).
- Labels are made with your keys and paid on your own carrier invoice. We do not resell labels.
- The label is attached to the Shopify return with its tracking number, and the customer gets it on the returns page and by email.
- A test carrier makes sample labels, so you can walk the whole flow before you connect a contract.
Tracking and refunds
- The app follows the return parcel with your carrier and shows each step on the return.
- On Grow and Pro, the refund, exchange or store credit goes out at the first carrier scan or on delivery, as you choose. The amount is the one Shopify suggests for the return, never calculated by the app.
- A return label fee and a restocking fee are taken from the refund through Shopify when you set them. Never for EU withdrawals.
- A reminder before the 14-day refund deadline, and a list of returns that need you on the home page.
Languages
The button, the returns page and the customer emails are in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Danish, Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian. The app and the emails to you are in the same 11 languages.
Plans and prices
All prices are in US dollars. Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial and are billed monthly through Shopify. Every plan includes a quota; use above it is added to your Shopify bill at the price below, up to a monthly usage limit you set in the app.

Withdrawal statements are accepted on every plan and never count toward a limit. On a paid plan, returns above the monthly quota are handled as usual and billed at your plan’s price. On Free, or when your monthly usage limit is spent, new returns are still accepted but wait for your approval and get no automatic label.
Your responsibility
The withdrawal button, the two-step form and the confirmation email follow Article 11a of the Consumer Rights Directive as amended by Directive (EU) 2023/2673 and use its official wording in each language. The app gives you the tools; you remain responsible for your store meeting consumer law, and you can change every text the app shows or sends.
